Berlin Barracuda Fundraisers
Fundraisers are a way to help keep an individual swimmer's
annual fees down, while still maintaining high quality expectations of the swim team, in regards to pool maintenance, supplies, coaching staff, treats, banquet, and other rewards for the swimmers during the season. We will
have a banquet at the end of each of the Winter and Summer sessions.
Some fundraisers are ongoing throughout the year. Other fundraisers we do only for a short time during the winter and summer sessions.
Sentry Funds for Friends When checking out, ask for a sticker to be placed on your receipt. Turn it into the office box and we receive 1% of the total bill. This really adds up in a hurry!
CoBritt's Car Wash These coupons are available for purchase as long as we have them in stock. Just take the coupon and use it in the car wash, same as cash.
Berlin Barracuda Card This card can be used for discounts and specials at the merchants listed on the back of the card. Also, if you go to Varsity Gold's web site and register the card, it can be used nationwide for various businesses that are
members in the National program.
Subway Card This card is used for the area Subways listed on the back of the card.
Uncle Phil'sİ Spice or Mustard Basket A wonderful assortment of spices or mustards in a decorator basket with an embroidered dish towel.
Piccadilly's Pizza This card entitles the cardholder to discounts offered on the back of the cards.
 Poinsettas Every year Hrnak's of Oshkosh grows these beautiful plants for us to sell. We take the orders in the beginning of November and have them delivered in the beginning of December. These make great holiday gifts!
 Scrip One day every week (usually Monday) our Scrip coordinator Alice Cox is in the office to take Scrip orders. This is similar to buying gift cards to be used at your favorite stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. She will have on hand the "regular" scrip that people order frequently. Otherwise she will place the order on Tuesday, and within two weeks you should have your scrip. In some cases, you may have to plan ahead so you have it in time to use when you need it.  Scrip Magazine Scrip is now offering magazine subscriptions, as well. You can get these through Alice, as well. You have two choices: For $20 choose from 40 titles, or For $50 get People Magazine. You will receive a certificate that you can fill out for the magazine of your choice. Then mail it in. The club will receive 50% back by going through Scrip.  Scrip WEB Mall Scrip has a new way to offer great returns similar to the ones using traditional scrip. Shop at over 200 online stores at the NSC's Web Mall! All you have to do is logon to their web site, enter our organization's password (bbswim) & your own personal supporter login, and shop online as normal. Pumpkins on the Petunias
Just a quick but heartfelt Thank you! to everyone who made this October 4th event a successful one to help raise money to support our Barracudas! We had a great day this year at the festival, parade and celebration for our military. And we have all our parents, swimmers, and sponsors to thank who dedicated their time, energy, supplies and food to help us! And we also have to thank all those who attended this year's event that helped to make it special and rewarding!
Berlin Barracuda Christmas Parade Float
 Berlin's Christmas Parade will be held on November 9th, and this year's theme is "Peace on Earth". We haven't much time left to finish our float, so all the help we can get from our parents and swimmers is really appreciated! Not only do we have a great time with each other while putting our float together, our floats have won many parade awards in years past, so we have a reputation to keep up. SCHOOL DANCES!!
 The Berlin Barracuda Swim Club will again be sponsoring some dances this year at the Berlin Middle School. These dances will be open to all middle school-age children from the city's three schools: Berlin Middle School, St. John's, and Berlin Catholic. We will announce the dates of the dances very soon.
What We Need From YOU!!
CHAPERONS We will need as many of the middle school parents as possible for chaperoning each of the dances. More parents = better supervision. These dances also provide a great chance for us parents to socialize outside the pool! So if any of you other BBSC parents are interested in helping out by chaperoning, you're more than welcome to join us on these nights!!
SNACKS Domino's always provides us pizzas to sell at a very reasonable price. We also need parents to provide other types of snacks that we can sell, as well. Selling extra snacks and soda pop reduces our overhead expenses for sponsoring the dances -- and these HUNGRY kids really look forward to the goodies being available!! The kinds of things that have sold well in the past are cookies, brownies, bars, puppy chow, and snack mix.
The dances are an easy way to fund raise a SERIOUS amount of money for only a couple hours effort. The money goes toward team expenses, such as assistant coaching costs and team relay event fees at meets. So, please, help out in any way you can. Every effort is appreciated!!
